24-Hour Emergency
Response
Be sure you know where your main gas
shut-off is located. If you suspect a problem, such as a gas leak or
you smell a strong gas odor, here is what you should do:
-
Extinguish
all smoking materials and turn off any
open flames.
-
Do not use
any electrical switches, appliances,
thermostats or telephones in the
affected area.
-
Vacate the
building immediately.
-
Turn your
main gas shutoff valve to the off
position (righty, tighty).
-
Call Phelps Sungas and/or your local
fire department from OUTSIDE the
building from a cell phone or neighbor's
phone.
Due to the possibility of a propane gas
explosion, do not use or operate any
telephone of any kind (including cell
phones), or any other electrically
operated device such as light switches
or flashlights, etc.
inside a building where you smell a gas
odor.
FOR YOUR SAFETY,
it is important to keep you home free from sparks that can be caused
by flipping a light switch or using a telephone (including cell phones).
PROPANE STORAGE TANKS
Above-ground propane storage tanks are
available in 150, 250, 500, and
1000-gallon sizes.
Underground propane tanks are available in
250, 500, and 1000-gallon sizes.
All underground propane storage tanks are
coated for protection from corrosion.
Anodes are also attached to provide
additional protection.
We offer complete turn key service on tank
installations, including excavation of the
tank hole to lighting the pilot on your
propane gas appliances and equipment.
GAS Safety Check
This important safety inspection is
performed by a Phelps Sungas trained technician in 30 to 90 minutes. Your
system is tested for leaks and checked to ensure it meets all applicable
safety standards. This preventive maintenance safety check involves your
tank, piping, regulators, gauges, connectors, valves, vents, thermostats,
pilots, burners, and appliance controls. When completed you can be assured
that your system is safe and in good working condition.
Continuous Maintenance
A major benefit to Automatic Delivery
customers is the consistent monitoring of the regulators, valves and
gauges on your tank. If a seal appears worn or in need of repair, your
tank will be checked and maintained in this way with each delivery.
Repairs are made, as needed, on leased Phelps Sungas tanks FREE of charge.
Service Calls
Gas appliances should only be repaired by
trained gas technicians. Improper ventilation can affect the combustion
process and create a situation that could produce toxic carbon monoxide
gas. For your safety and protection, call Phelps Sungas for help with all
your gas appliances.
Back in Service Tank
1. Someone must be home when an empty tank
is filled.
2. Qualified personnel must perform a brief
leak test of the gas system, re-light the pilot lights and see that gas
appliances are working properly.
3. If the tank has been empty for a period
of time, the gas system and tank must be pressure checked and safety
inspected.

If an
appliance or component of your
propane system has been tagged, "Out
of Service," do not attempt to
enable it. The tag indicates a
serious, unsafe condition.
